it's late

It's late, I'm tired, and I'm just getting my feet wet in LiveJournal.

Saw "Matrix Reloaded" finally this weekend (yeah, I'm losing my geek status for not having seen it before now). Some great fight CGI, some interesting hints about the reality layers in the Matrix, and some cute symbolism to the names.

But geez. The movie was one big fight scene. I would have much rather had more plot.

Other weekend movie

Apparently this weekend was movie time; I haven't been to the movies much recently (although I saw X2, but it's been a while before then).

Anyway, the other flick I caught was a Korean film called Jailbreakers, at the Seattle International Film Festival. Basic premise: couple of convicts break out of prison the day before they're supposed to be paroled. Only once they're out do they discover this, and of course they then have to break back in so that they don't spend their lives on the lam. Humor ensues. It's certainly got its moments, but is pretty hammy. Still, though, if you're in the mood for a basically silly film, it was pretty decent.
